MOROBA: Robotic Assistance System for Care and Therapy
Modular robotic support for nursing and therapy sectors
The project focuses on the development of a modular robotic assistance system. The innovation of MOBORA is based on a user-centred, modular approach: specific modules can be used to modify a common robotic platform so that it can be adapted to different applications such as nursing care, early mobilization or rehabilitation as required. This way, it can be integrated cooperatively into the various work processes and relieve the pressure on patient care due to the shortage of skilled workers.

Ai4Posture: Torsobarography of the Future
State-of-the-art Sensor Technology Combined with AI-optimized Diagnostics
The project is based on a method developed at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering (IBMT) at TU Dresden: torsobarography. This uses state-of-the-art sensor technology to measure the pressure distribution of the patient's back. During the examination, a large number of parameters are recorded and using artificial intelligence, patterns are recognized that remain hidden to the human eye. The diagnostic capabilities of specialists are bundled and embedded in an efficient algorithm, thus enabling the implementation of an expert system. As a result, the assessment of posture is automated to such an extent that even untrained personnel can carry out the examination.

Ai4Posture: Torsobarography of the Future

SCREEN: Integration of Real World Data in Clinical Decision-making Processes
Early detection of acute deterioration of COPD patients through continuous, contactless and location-independent sleep measurement
This project aims to develop a Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) for the personalized treatment of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In the event of an acute deterioration in the patient's condition, this should enable the earliest possible intervention and adaptation of therapy.
The CDSS is based on the continuous recording of respiratory rate in the home environment (through the integration of Sleepiz One+ from Sleepiz AG) and telemedical support for patients (provided by partner clinics). This is expected to lead to a reduction in hospitalizations and mortality, a significant improvement in patients' quality of life and a reduction in the financial burden on the healthcare system.

munevo ASSIST: Modular and AI-supported Wheelchair Control
Individually adaptable wheelchair control for immobile people
The aim of this project is to develop a wheelchair control system that is cheaper, more adaptable and more powerful than the alternatives currently on the market. The prototypes will use robust cameras and possibly integrate artificial intelligence to help control the wheelchair. With eye-tracking, the control system can be used in the event of serious injuries (e.g. severe cervical spinal cord injury, short SCI) or rapidly progressing degenerative diseases (e.g. amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, short ALS). This enables individual adaptation to the user's abilities.

Sensy: Peripheral Stimulation of the Lower Extremities of Prosthesis Wearers
Pain management and restoration of sensory perception for people with lower limb amputation
In Europe, there are 4.66 million people with lower limb amputations and 431,000 new cases every year. 50 - 80 % of those affected develop phantom pain. With the SensArs neurostimulator, sensitive fascicles within a peripheral nerve can be stimulated highly selectively for the first time, generating natural sensations. In addition to improved prosthesis control and a lower risk of falling, this can above all lead to a long-term reduction of pain.
